Namely, The Wall Street Journal will publish chapter one of Go Set a Watchman of “Go Set a Watchman” online on July 10! Just to remind, the book is set for release just 4 days later.The novel is certainly one of the most anticipated books this year.
There’s good news for impatient Brits as well, for Guardian will also feature the first chapter on Friday.
But, that’s not all: as a cherry on top – WSJ will also publish an audiobook of the first chapter, narrated by Reese Witherspoon!
Go Set a Watchman is actually a sequel to Harper Lee’s 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird, although it’s known that Lee wrote GSAW prior to TKAM.
The novel meets the heroine, Scout Finch, some 20 years after the events in To Kill a Mockingbird. She’s on her way home to Mayacomb, Alabama, to visit her dad, Atticus. It all happens at the time of the civil rights movement. It’s still not known whether her brother Jem or BFF Boo Radley will appear in the sequel.
There has been some controversy regarding Lee’s second novel. However, it hasn’t turned her impatient many fans away.
